Sometimes there are people ready to count you out, when you simply don’t agree. You know you still have something to offer. You know people are underestimating you. Just because they are ready to pull the plug on you and your possibilities doesn’t mean that you should be. That’s when you need to hang in there and speak up for yourself. You never know, that might just make the difference.
Don’t Count Me Out
As I hovered overhead
I watch the Doc pronounce me dead.
“There’s no pulse, no steady beat
Think you best pull up the sheet.”
Hey wait a minute I tried to shout
It’s much too soon to count me out.
Get those paddles off the wall
My heart might just be in a stall.
I flapped and screeched and banged about
Until I heard the head nurse shout,
“I think I see his eyelids flutter.”
“Ah crap” I heard the doctor mutter.
“It appears it’s not too late–I guess we better ventilate.”
